In 2004, Greg partnered with Ted Lott forming Lott3Metz Architecture which allowed him to apply his passion and energies on urban architecture. His focus has been to apply innovative design thinking to positively shape the future of West Michigan.

Prior to creating Lott3Metz Architecture, Greg Metz was responsible for the design and management of numerous projects for Fifth Third Bank and Steelcase Inc., including the Steelcase University Learning Center. He has brought that experience to Lott3Metz Architecture and has applied it to designs such as the Oasis at Steelcase Global Headquarters, Meijer Corporate Headquarters, Irwin Seating Corporate Offices, Rhoades McKee and Lake Michigan Credit Union branches. His commitment to the urban environment has allowed him to work on numerous renovation and historic preservation projects such as Reagan Marketing + Design, LaFontsee Galleries, The Pyramid Scheme, 645 Cherry, Harmony Brewing in Eastown & Harmony Hall, the Kendall Building and Treadstone Funding.

He is actively involved at Kendall College of Art & Design as a visiting juror and thesis advisor. As an Adjunct Professor he taught courses in Interior Design and Building Codes and routinely serves as a Guest Juror for the school. Currently, Greg is an advisor for Design West Michigan and was one of the co-founders of West Michigan Design Week. He is also actively involved in the local AIA and previously has served on the State Legislative Committee and as President of the local chapter.

Greg is an award-winning architect in design, preservation, sustainability, and urban environments who continues to be actively involved in the neighborhood and design communities to create a better living environment.

A native of Grand Rapids, Greg earned his Masters in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy. He currently resides in the Eastown neighborhood of East Grand Rapids.
